Project Schedule

The total contract time for the project is 18 months starting on June 1, 2020, and ending on or before January 31, 2022.

PROJECTED WORK ACTIVITY SCHEDULE – UPDATED ON 12/22/21

THE SCHEDULE BELOW IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE PENDING WEATHER CONDITIONS, ETC.  THE SCHEDULE WILL BE UPDATED AND REVISED ACCORDINGLY.

All pipework and paving work is complete.  Restoration efforts are ongoing with completion by the end of January, 2022.  Please note that crews will not be working between December 18th through January 2nd.  Between January 3rd and January 31st, crews will finish all restoration work, including the replacement of the Laurel Park signs, reworking of the trail head at Brother Geenen and various miscellaneous items throughout the project.    

Please note the segment of Osprey between 8th and 10th will be paved in May 2022 when additional pipe work is complete. 

Also note that the ADA Ramps, “bulb-out” at Laurel and sidewalk improvements between Main and Ringling will be completed by the City’s Public Works Department by March 31, 2022.  This work is not part of the Osprey Utilities project.

REMAINING WORK

12/18/21 to 1/2/22 – No work. 

1/3/22 to 1/31/22 – Restore/Replace all disturbed areas (concrete sidewalk), medians, landscaping, etc.  Install permanent striping. Complete punch list items.  Two-way traffic will be maintained using flagmen and traffic control devices.

3/3/22 to 5/15/22 – Install replacement 24-inch Cocoanut force main and pave road between 10th Street and 8th Street.  Also restore and pave the Gillespie Park Dog Park parking lot.

COMPLETED WORK

6/8/20 to 6/10/20 – Install 20-inch Tee and 20-inch Valve on Existing 20-inch Force Main between Brother Geenen and Novus.

Status: Complete

6/8/20 to 9/25/20 – Horizontal Directional Drill 30-inch HDPE Force Main (approx. 1,950 feet) from 4th Street to Gillespie Dog Park parking lot and Pressure Test.

Status:  Complete

6/10/20 to 9/30/20 – Install Force Main from Railroad to the WWTP and Pressure Test.

Status: Complete 

10/5/20 to 10/16/20 – Connect 30-inch HDPE force main to existing 24-inch Force Main piping at the Gillespie Dog Park parking lot.  During this period, the Dog Park parking lot will be closed, and 10th Street will be closed to through traffic between Gillespie and Goodrich for approximately 1 day.  Access to all properties in these areas will be provided.

Status: Complete

7/13/20 to 11/7/20 – Horizontal Directional Drill 30-inch HDPE Force Main (approx. 3,400 feet) from Brother Geenen to 4th Street.  During this period, Osprey Ave. will be closed to through traffic between Oak Street and Novus and from Fruitville Road to 5th Street. 4th Street will be closed to through traffic between Goodrich and Gillespie and Brother Geenen will be closed to through traffic between US301 and Osprey.  Access to all properties in these areas will be provided.

Status: The Contractor successfully completed the installation of the 30-inch HDPE pipe on 10/30/20. 

11/9/20 to 11/25/20 – Leak test the 30-inch HDPE Connect 30-inch HDPE force main to 20-inch Valve Located between Brother Geenen & Novus.  During this period, Osprey will be closed to through traffic between Oak Street and Novus.  Brother Geenen will be closed to through traffic between US301 and Osprey. Access to all properties in these areas will be provided.

Status: Complete

11/2/20 to 12/4/20 – Connect 30-inch HDPE Force Mains at 4th Street.  During this period, Osprey will be closed to through traffic between Fruitville and 5th, and 4th Street will be closed to through traffic between Goodrich and Gillespie.  Access to all properties in these areas will be provided.

Status: Complete

12/3/20 to 12/11/20 – Submit release to FDEP to place new force main into permanent operation and place force main into operation.

Status: Complete

12/7/20 to 12/11/20 – Directional drill new 12-inch HDPE water main under Mound and restore the area.

Status: Complete

12/14/20 to 12/18/20 and from 1/4/21 to 2/5/21 – Contractor to flush, clean and televise existing force main pipe in preparation for slip-lining the new 12-inch water main between Brother Geenen and 10th Street.

Status: Complete

12/19/20 to 1/3/21 – No work during this period other than flushing old force main.

1/4/21 to 2/12/21 – Install Water Mains between Bay Street and Mound.  Local traffic only will be provided.

Status: Complete

3/15/21 to 4/15/21 – Contractor to slip-line new 12-inch watermain between 2nd Street and 10th Street.

Status: Complete.

2/11/21 to 6/18/21 – Contractor to slip-line new 12-inch watermain between 2nd Street and 10th Street, connect to existing water mains and connect new services. Two-way traffic will be maintained using flagmen and traffic control devices.   

Status: Complete.

6/4/21 to 7/2/21 – Contractor to mill and overlay Osprey Ave. between Fruitville and 8th Street and between Bay St. and Mound St., including restoration of concrete curbing and sidewalks.

Status: Complete except for punch list items.

7/12/21 to 10/1/21 – Contractors to make initial connections to the new HDPE water main between Fruitville & Brother Geenen. Two-way traffic will be maintained using flagmen and traffic control devices.   

Status: Complete.

9/20/21 to 10/1/21/21 – Contractor to “open cut” new water main between Mound and Brother Geenen. Two-way traffic will be maintained using flagmen and traffic control devices. 

Status: Complete.

9/20/21 to 10/1/21 – Contractor to test and disinfect new water main and initial connections between Oak and Fruitville.   Two-way traffic will be maintained using flagmen and traffic control devices. 

Status: Complete.

10/4/21 to 11/5/21 – Contractor to make final connections between Fruitville & OakAll customers to be notified prior to final connection.  Install reuse water service to median along Oak.  Two-way traffic will be maintained using flagmen and traffic control devices.

Status: Complete.

10/4/21 to 10/15/21/21 – Contractor to test and disinfect the new water main between Mound and Brother Geenen. Two-way traffic will be maintained using flagmen and traffic control devices.
